- Abrasive Grain Exposure Reaches 50-70%
- Longer Service Life
Better Grinding Effect on Cast Iron Compared with Electroplated CBN Grinding Wheels.
The vacuum brazed CBN grinding wheels are made of CBN abrasives, brazing material and the substrate by high-temperature brazing technology. It features high cutting edge height and large chip holding capacity, which can meet the needs of heavy-duty grinding processing.
Technical requirements for vacuum brazed CBN grinding wheels
- The exposed height of CBN abrasive is about 50% of the height of the abrasive itself.
- The thickness of the brazing material layer is uniform and consistent.
- Ensure that CBN abrasives are not thermally damaged, and there is a stable and high-strength chemical metallurgical bond at the interface between the CBN abrasives, brazing material, and substrate, so that the CBN abrasives are not easily falling off.
Selection of CBN abrasives
The production of vacuum brazed CBN grinding wheel should meet the following special requirements in terms of crystal shape, strength, particle size, impurity content, and surface condition.
Crystal shape and strength
The shape of CBN crystals should be regular and complete, with fewer edge defects. Due to the rapid
wear of low-quality CBN abrasives, choose the high grade and high-strength CBN abrasives, in order to ensure the wear resistance of brazed products.
Grit
Vacuum brazed CBN wheels have a single-layer structure. To ensure the homogeneity of CBN particles on the working surface of CBN grinding wheels, strict requirements are placed on their particle size composition.
Surface conditions
In order to achieve a more complete reaction between CBN abrasive and brazing material during the brazing process, and to achieve a strong chemical metallurgical bonding, there are requirements for the surface state of the CBN abrasive.
A.Surface roughness
The surface of CBN grains should be appropriately rough. Smooth grains on the surface are not good for the wetting of liquid brazing material at the interface at high temperature, which increase the difficulty of the reaction between CBN abrasive grains and the brazing alloy interface.
B.Surface purification
With the special crystal structure, CBN abrasive grains on the surface are prone to undergo the chemical adsorption with other substances. Surface purification treatment of CBN grains is required to meet the requirement of brazing process.
Brazed CBN grinding wheels can be made into various complex shapes according to the shape of the substrate.
