Diamond flap disc is a kind of superabrasive coated grinding tool, which composed of diamond abrasive cloth as backing and base. Diamond abrasive cloth is arranged in a certain sequence, either electroplated diamond sanding paper or hybrid alignment of diamond and silicon carbide sanding paper. There are plastic fiber base and aluminum base.
Application of Diamond Disc
Diamond flap disc is mainly used for grinding and deburring, which is very suitable for chamfering and oblique grinding.
It can be used for grinding stone, plastic, glass, engineering ceramics, various thermal spray coatings, complex 3D shaped tungsten carbide, quartz, fiberglass, and etc.
Types of Diamond Flap Disc :
Diamond disc can be divided into two types according to the diamond flaps. One is flaps are consist of electroplated diamond flaps and silicon carbide flaps, which ensures that the flap disc has sharpness and surface roughness of workpiece ground.
Others is only composed of diamond flaps, which has high sharpness and a longer life.
There are flap disc for stones, diamond flap disc for glass, disc for tungsten carbide, disc for thermal spray coatings according to different applications.
Because of different objects with different Mohs hardness, structure features and requirements for surface roughness, it is difficult for diamond disc with the same formula to meet the requirements of every object.
