Metal Bonded Diamond Grinding Wheels

Metal Bond Diamond Wheel
- High Bonding Strength
- Strong Abrasive Holding Force
- High Temperature Resistance
- Good Thermal Conductivity
Metal bond diamond wheel Mostly Used for Grinding Glass and Semiconductor Materials.
Metal bond diamond grinding wheel includes three parts: substrate, diamond abrasive, and metal bonded. The preparation process usually includes batching, mixing, sintering, and post-processing.
It mainly used for the processing of non-metallic brittle materials such as ceramics, glass, stone, gemstones, semiconductor materials, and etc.. It is suitable for rough grinding, semi-precision grinding, profiling grinding, and edge grinding, etc.
According to the different content of the main metal in the binder, metal bond diamond wheel can be divided into bronze based, cobalt based, iron based, nickel based, tungsten based, and aluminum based binders.
Bronze binder features high strength, good formability, high wear resistance, long life, high temperature resistance, good thermal conductivity, and the ability to work under heavy loads, which can achieve the requirements of the high speed and precision grinding.
Holding Force of Metal Bonded Diamond Grinding Wheel
Metal binder has a larger holding force on diamond compared to other binders, so the diamond can be fully utilized in grinding. Therefore, metal bond diamond grinding wheel has higher life and grinding efficiency.
Self-Sharpening of Metal Bonded Diamond Grinding Wheel
The high density and toughness of metal binders cause too high wear resistance, leading to many problems such as poor self sharpening of the metal bond diamond grinding wheel, difficulty in dressing, and burning the workpieces.
Our company solves such problems through the following three ways.
Firstly, control the preparation process conditions reasonably to ensure that the sintered binder matrix retains have appropriate pores. Secondly, add the pore forming agent to create pores in the binder matrix. Thirdly, add an appropriate amount of brittle phase to match the wear degree of the binder and diamond during the grinding process.
